Eric Dane's final message to his daughters and the world

AI is dangerous, but not for the reasons you think
AI is dangerous, but not for the reasons you think by Artificial Intelligence Researcher Dr Sasha Luccioni Sasha Luccioni. Absolutely love the argument to shift our attention and focus towards current issues (like how AI is shaping elections, displacing labor, concentrating power, and amplifying misinformation) instead of wasting time with a) oversimplified doomsday scenarios or b) blind-faith bets that AI might just magically solve most or all of our collective problems in the not-so-distant future.

AI is starting to wear down democracy
AI is starting to wear down democracy — as the NYT reports, "content generated by artificial intelligence has become a factor in elections around the world". John Oliver in AI Slop: Last Week Tonight underscores the growing issue, explaining "why you’ve been seeing more AI-generated content online and the harm it can do". Keep in mind that AI's current capabilities, understanding and rendered audio-, image and video-quality is "the worst AI will ever be". It's not just a tool, but a force of transformation, reshaping societies in ways we're only beginning to grasp. Brings to mind the 1999 BBC interview with David Bowie, about the internet, its implications and promises, good and bad: "Is there life on Mars? Yes, it just landed here."

The development of AI, the future (geo-)political landscape, our privacy & IP, how we want to live and how we will live, it's obviously all connected. If there’s one TED-Talk (with lots of opportunities to dig deeper) which we’d love to recommend today, to watch and think about deeply, it’s This is what a digital coup looks like by Carole Cadwalladr which at its core is about nothing less than the future of our democracies. It’s abut free speech, politics, privacy, technology. Don’t laugh it off, it’s scary, absolutely real and very relevant.

Various WTF
Hopefully not much will happen in the US today: could the February 28 Economic Blackout become a broader sign of protest? While Donald Trump continues to do trump-things, though this time 10x more bizarre (what the fu§kity f#ck is that AI-generated, cognitive meltdown inducing dark masterpiece of doom?!) there's obviously much more going on (the US possibly being well on the path to some fringe kind of anti-woke/maga-conservative/tech-authoritarianism?) and it's more complicated than ever to follow as "flood the zone" can be pretty effective, unfortunately. Trump Administration’s Major Moves by the nytimes.com helps to make some sense of what's happening — it's A LOT, though. Blick ins Studio
Blick ins Studio
Hier ist immer was los.
Außerdem horten wir mannigfaltig Druckmaterial, Farben, Linolplatten, you name it.
Anlieferung

Regel No. Uno: Hab Freude! Oder ändere die Bedingungen und die Situation.
Neon-Farbe
Do we care? Nope. Einfach weitermachen.

Wie sieht's aus bei euch?
Be kind or fck off!
Always remember to be kind to others! We can disagree, but if you're not kind, you can fck off right now. #empathy & #kindness gedruckt in #neonrot. Be kind or fck off!
#digga @stellavie
Madly in love.
You spin me right 'round!
NEON-Farbe!? #kreisch 😍
@stellavie
